Idyllwild, California

For those who wish to wander from the Faerie House, Idyllwild is exactly as it sounds: Idyllic and Wild. Our small mountain town is full of earthy and artistic charm — complete with local farms, unique boutiques and galleries, and a thriving New Age spiritual scene — while the natural environment opens the door to grand adventure.

Meet the Mayor!

Mayor Max II, a regal Golden Retriever, is a common sight in Idyllwild.

Traveling in a pick-up truck plastered red, white, and blue, our mayor takes time out of his busy schedule to pose for photos. With his trademark necktie, Max knows how to please his adoring fans. He places his paws on the edge of the truck for an adorable yet dignified pose.

“We have no human politicians in Idyllwild!” Phyllis Mueller, the mayor’s human, exclaims. “It’s another good reason to come here.”
